First we'll State the obvious, Nuggets Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and now, why.
About 14 years ago or so I had an uncle, who bred and showed Rhodesian Ridgebacks, on a visit, we fell in love with the
dog breed and purchased our first ridgeback from him, Ama-Zulu's Gold Nugget. We had planned on breeding her but times just
did not work out, and soon she was an old dog and loved to lay around and even had her own couch. Realizing that our Ridgie
was getting old me and my daughter decided that we wanted another puppy, a female Ridgeback (Nugget's Majik Isis) with
unlimited papers incase we decided to breed, purchased here in North Dakota from Dacotah Territory Rhodesian Ridgebacks..
About a year had gone by and decided that we wanted to get another puppy, who we searched for because we wanted a male darker
in color and an opposite from our female. We got him from Coon Creek Kennels in Oklahoma. With our old ridgeback who
has since passed into a better world, we decided that we would name our dogs after her. and thus Nugget's Rhodesian Ridgebacks
We Love Our Ridgebacks. Why?
Ridgebacks are affectionate, the are durable for kids, and they are protective of their humans. The little neighbor kids
can roll around with these dogs and play with them with out having to worry about the dog hurting them, but ridgebacks are
not for everyone. Ridgebacks are quite active and love to run and play. THIS IS NOT A DOG FOR EVERYONE. If your looking for
a hunting Pal buy a pointer or lab, because these dogs almost always have a mind of their own and tend to do what they want
when they want.
Training ?
The best way to train a dog is to take it with you everywhere and spend as much time with it as possible, not just training,
but social gatherings and such to because these dogs need to get out in public, otherwise they will not be mellow.
